I don’t know where

we got the idea that

Jesus is our all-time

best invisible friend.

It came into vogue

about the time we

were moving

into terminal immaturity

as a culture.

Maybe

there’s a connection.

Jesus is the Momma

we never had,

and always deserved.

If an eternal Mother

to take care of us

the way we want to be taken care of

throughout our perpetual childhood

can’t be real,

we will believe in the reality of an Invisible Mother,

and call her Jesus,

and say she’s God’s only son.

The gender thing is just a technicality.
