I’ve caught enough fish,

mowed enough grass,

slept out enough on the ground.

I’ve attended enough weddings,

and enough football games

changed enough oil,

and enough diapers,

and enough tires,

sung enough hymns,

been to enough fellowship dinners,

painted enough walls,

drunk enough alcohol.

I’ve ridden enough horses,

played enough pool,

been bowling enough,

and on enough Ferris wheels,

and roller skates.

I’ve had enough of the deep south,

been with enough people as they died,

balanced enough check books,

lost enough keys,

changed enough flat tires,

sat through enough sermons…

I won’t miss any of those things

when they’re gone.

But, the Grand Tetons,

the Canadian Rockies,

and, yes, Death Valley,

are another story.
